Jay Legg

Jay started in the commercial real estate business in Austin in 1987 after graduating from the University of Texas.  In his 35 years in the business he has been involved in the brokerage and leasing of all property types.

In 1988 Jay went to work for Burney Interests concentrating on the sale of multi-family properties. In six years with Burney Interests he was successful in the brokerage of over 9000 units of multi-family product.

In 1994 he started his own company, CBL Properties. CBL was active in raising equity and acquiring all types of income-producing assets.  CBL was involved with projects in multiple states including Oklahoma, Arizona, and Nebraska. Jay's was responsible for asset management, leasing, acquisition, and the disposition of over 1 million square feet of commercial product.

Jay went to work for Lincoln Property Company in Austin in 2002.  There he oversaw acquisitions and dispositions in the Central Texas market. In 2008 Jay went to work with HPI Corporate Services where he concentrated on buying and selling income-producing properties. He also handled site selection for Wells Fargo Bank NA in the Central Texas area. In addition, he was involved in tenant representation for industrial and office clients.

In early 2015 Jay was offered the opportunity to come to MFB Real Estate Services to oversee daily operations. Jay's responsibilities include all aspects of leasing current MFB assets, assisting outside brokers in drafting LOI’s, lease negotiations, negotiation of landlord work letters, leasing some of MFB's properties directly, and looking for acquisition opportunities.

Married to a wonderful wife with three beautiful children, Jay enjoys time with his family. His hobbies include golf, hunting, fishing, and cooking.
